Nashville-Inspired Hot Fried Chicken

This is an inspired home version rather than a claim of regional authenticity. The spicy finish is brushed on after the chicken is safely cooked.

Chicken safety: Keep raw chicken refrigerated, avoid cross-contamination, and verify at least 165°F / 73.9°C internally with a food thermometer. Deep frying uses very hot oil; follow suitable equipment safety guidance and do not leave frying unattended.
